What do you think of our chosen song? Do you like the artist?: I find the song very therapeutic and am now motivated to listen to more songs by Russian Red.
What do you think a music video for this song should be like?: I think a non-chaotic and chilled out style should be approached to reflect the calming rhythm of the song
How would you (as a member of the indie pop audience) like to be attracted and addressed in this video?: (what do you think we should do to draw in indie pop fans): I think it should be aesthetically pleasing, with interesting looking props, the video should relate to the song but not be too cluttered; so the attention isn't lifted off the song itself too much, the music is important, maybe you could get pretty shots of nature to match the lyrics. I'd like to see lots of the artist, and I'd like it if she had an indie pop style to show she is a fan of the genre, like me.
Both of the people I've interviewed are dressed in the indie pop style, wearing fashionable clothing that doesn't show any mainstream labels. Amy is wearing, a quilted skirt and top that gives her the 20th glamour, vintage look associated with indie pop. Rachael meanwhile is wearing a vintage looking dress along with modern style wedge boots and a necklace with a key as a charm, reflecting the quirky nature of indie pop. We will need to remember give our artist a similar style of clothing to make her more relatable to the indie pop audience.
From this feedback I have learnt some things that these fans of the indie pop genre want to see and hopefully what the indie pop fan base as a whole will want to see in our video. Amy has shown us that a large open area of land would be ideal for the location, especially as this will be in keeping with conventional locations for indie pop videos, and that we should possible let our artist have some other actors or some other form of sidekick in the music video, although it may be a problem to include this as it is important to keep focus on the main artist. Rachael has let us see the importance of using quirky props associated with indie pop videos, confirmed that we should make sure that our artist's style conforms to that expected of indie pop, and that we should include lots of shots of nature (which will help us make use of the convention of the images illustrating and amplifying the lyrics.
