Although we considered taking still images from our piece to use as images for part of the digipak we decided that it would look more professional for us to have a separate photoshoot for the digipak images. I also found for during my digipak research that the images which they used were often not taken from any music video, although they sometimes were similar to it, probably to draw people to their music videos. We therefore decided that it would be best that our images were similar to , the sun, the trees. So we used the same costume, hair, and make-up for our artist as we did in the video, in the hope that seeing the images on the digipak would encourage our audience to check out our video. As you saw from my post on the digipak images I identified some of the conventions for the digipak images, and I will write about which ones we used for these images in our evaluation

Digipaks of similar artists

As with the websites, since I knew we had to create a digipak for our artist, I decided to analyse the digipaks of already identified similar artists, to see what seems to be features which are often repeated in indie pop digipaks and we can then choose to use or not use the conventions in our own digipak. By looking at the digipaks of similar, successful indie pop artists, we can see work which has already attracted and addressed the indie pop audience which we also hope to attract and address in our own video, and see what they will want and expect in a digipak.

Anni b Sweet- Start Restart Undo.
A font which appears hand written is used in most of the digipak, it gives the digipak more of a personal, hand made touch which makes the indie pop audience feel that the artist felt a great connection to their work which is something the indie pop audience likes to see.
The font size of the artist's name and the album name is the same, giving the idea that they have equal importance, this is also enforced by the way they are at the same level. What I have said here is true for both the places that this text is displayed, at the top of the page on the front cover of the digipak where it will be immediately noticed and does not block any of the main album art, meaning that when it is looked at we give it all our attention, and on the page which would be at the spine of the CD case where it is the only writing so we will therefor give our full focus to it.
A professional barcode is placed at the bottom of the back, it includes references numbers, studio logos, and copyright symbols- I feel having a barcode like this on our digipak will increase its authenticity.
All of the singles included in the album are written on the back page of the album- this helps to entice potential buyers as they can see all of the songs which are included and lets people who have already bought it see which place in the album each single has so they can go to it.
A simple, mostly black and white colour scheme is used which makes the digipak look timeless and gives it a vintage like style lots of indie pop artists like including in their work.
A drawing of the artist is the picture for the album cover, including some unusual animal imagery to make her album look unique, the drawing is black while the background is white, which allows it to stand out more. Using an image of the artist on the cover of the album both increases her star image and makes it easier to spot as hers.

Once again the font which is used throughout most of the digipak appears to be hand written, probably for the same reason it is used in Anni's album.
The artist's name has the biggest font out of all the text in the digipak, which gives the idea of the artist is the most important thing about the album. It is displayed at the top of the album cover meaning that it is probably the first thing people will read on the digipak, is also does not interfere with the album photography. It is also displayed on the photography behind where the CD goes, the writing is below Ellie's face so it does not block it out.
The album name is also displayed on both the album cover and where the disc goes, in both cases it is under the artist's name but on the cover it is near the very bottom to help with its noticeability.
On this album as well all of the singles included in the album are written on the back page, most likely for the same reasons mentioned for the previous album.
At the back cover of the digipak a barcode is included in the bottom right hand corner and is surrounded by studio logos- as is expected of a professional digipak.
Most of the text in the digipack is black with a white rectangular background around the same size as the writing which helps it to stand out more.
The colours in the digipak, apart from the images, are black and white. The images are mostly colourful but slightly muted to give them a vintage looking style, this can especially be seen in the photo behind where the CD is placed.
Every image on each part of the digipak is one of Ellie, she is usually in a natural setting, and wearing fashionable clothes with an edge and no labels, her hair and make-up also look very natural. This means that she looks like the stereotypical indie pop audience which she wants to attract, this is also done through the image of her looking as if she is enjoying herself in the studio playing her music, and it is this love of their music that indie pop fans want to see from their favourite artists. The multiple use of Ellie's image is another example of creating the star image in a digipak.

The band name is written in a larger font, which once again has the appearance of being hand written, at the top of the front cover of the digipak, once again to make it more noticeable.
The title "lungs" if written in a more conventional font across the top of Florence's chest, on top of the fake pair of lungs which she has over it. As the fake lungs are something which many peoples' eyes would be drawn to the audiences' eyes are also therefore drawn to this text, this noticeability is also created through the way the text is capitalised, and over and underlined. The title also has a similar appearance on the CD, in this case over a pair of lines holding what appears to be lungs.
Once again on this album all of the singles included in the album are written on the back page, most likely for the same reasons mentioned for the previous albums.
The font is white for most of the text in the digipak, the white font helps the text in some places to stand out from the image and in other places for it to stand out from the black background.
At the back cover of the digipak as with the other albums there is a barcode.
For the colours in the digipak on two sides a black and white colour scheme is used, while for the other sides full colours which have been slightly muted have been used, in both cases a vintage like style is created for the digipak, the type of style which is preferred for the indie pop genre.
Two of the images are of Florence, showing her face to create star image. The third image is of Florence's hand holding lungs. The final image is a diagram of lungs- repeated lung imagery in three out of the four images helps the audience to be constantly reminded of the album's title.

From analysing these digipaks I have decided to create a list of the common features between all the digipaks as a way to see the typical conventions for a digipak of the indie pop genre. I will then decide whether I think that we should follow of contrast these conventions and the reasons for doing both.

What I think we should have in our digipak (what's repeated in the other digipaks, going along with or contrasting these conventions our cover should be brighter because of the song etc.)
The font size of the title and the artist name should be the same or the artist name should be bigger to show the importance of the artist which indie pop fans like to see. The title and artist name should appear on both the front cover of the digipak and the place where the CD goes. On the front cover the artist name should be at the top of the cover- high enough that it does not interfere with the main image, the album title should then be at the bottom of the cover- low enough that it does not interfere with the main image. The two pieces of text should then be nearer eachother on the image where the CD goes while still not blocking out the main image.
All of the singles included in the album should be written on the back page of the album- to help to entice potential buyers as they can see all of the songs which are included and to let people who have already bought it see which place in the album each single has so they can go to it.
The font colour should directly contrast the image or background colour behind, i.e if we choose a black background colour our font should be white.
I think as with most digipaks we should include a professional barcode surrounded by studio and copyright symbols to increase its authenticity.
Through either black and white, a mixture of colours which have be muted, or both,  we should have a colour scheme which gives our digipak a vintage style associated with indie pop. However I don't think we should mute our colours quite as much as some of these other digipaks do so that the images matches the bright name of our song "the sun, the trees".
Most of the images within the digipak should be of the artist, with maybe one image being a representation of the title, however we should try to include some representation of the title within other images, so that the audience are constantly reminded of it.

The cover image
This will be something of particular importance to us as it would be the first thing most audience members will see of the CD and it is therefore important that this image be appeasing to the eye and that we what have what has already previously attracted the indie pop audience which we are aiming to also attract in our own cover image.

From the cover images of the digipaks I have already analysed and the cover images of some other albums by the same artists I can see some of the most important things to include in the image. The cover image should be either a close up or a medium shot of the artist herself in order to create star image. She should have some kind of prop which either makes her appear more whimsical, or references the song/album title. The artist should either look voyeuristic or be doing something which the indie pop audience will want to see her doing- such as enjoying herself while doing her work or generally being relaxed and having fun. The image should also try its best to match the tone of the song. The artist should look happy and healthy- her make-up and hair should appear natural while still looking fashionable. They should be dressed either in stereotypical indie pop clothes which are fashionable without any mainstream labels, or they should look like 20th century American glamour clothes which help with giving the image its vintage style. The picture should either be in black and white or be colourful but muted to help to further create this vintage style.

Websites of similar artists

As I know we will go on to create our own website I felt it was important to research the websites of some similar indie pop artists so that I can see the most common features of indie pop websites and from there I will write down the things which I feel we will need to have in our own website in order to attract the indie pop audience and what they will expect to be on the website once they are on it. This will include things such as the look and layout of the page, and the features, links and, sub pages on it.

Anni b Sweet's main website features

The artist name is at the top of the page, and has the largest font out of all the words on the page to make it more noticeable.
Sub pages include biography, photos, engagement, discography and news - the different things that the audience may want to know about the artist.
Below the links to the sub pages a photo of the cover of, and the name of, her next album is displayed, along with a link to spotify where the audience could listen to it.
Just beneath the link to her current album there are links to her previous CD's, so that anyone on the website can find access to all of her work.
A large picture of Anni takes up the most room out of anything on the page, this makes the photo the most noticeable thing on the page, making it more likely that you will remember her face-another example of creating a star image for an artist.
Links to news stories on the artist are displayed below this picture to that the fans can read more about what she's been up to recently.
In the top right hand corner there are links to Anni's social media pages, such as Facebook, twitter, and google+ so the audience can post on it and feel more connected to the artist.
Her next concert and more information on it are displayed below this, offering a chance for the audience to see her live, as many indie pop audience members would want to do.
Finally there are links to her music videos on youtube beneath the ticket links for the audience to watch and therefore listen to more of her music.

Ellie Goulding's main website features

The first thing along the top of the page which can be seen is links to various social media sites such as facebook, twitter, google+, youtube, spotify, instagram etc. These link could lead anyone on the website to more of the artists work, such as their music and music videos, or to the artists social media pages so that the audience can feel more connected with the artist. The easy access to social media sites could also allow the audience to easily share information about the artist on their own social media pages, therefore increasing awareness for the artist in the general public without having to pay for marketing.
Beneath this is the sub pages of home, biography, news, videos, live, lyrics, music, vocals, and store, these headings will lead to pages which will let fans know almost anything they could want to know about the artist and their work, as well as links to music videos so that they can listen to more work by the artist, to when she is next playing live, and where the audience can get her merchandise.
The artist name is then in all caps and is the largest piece of text on the website, making it the most noticeable to the audience so they are more likely to remember the name.
Below the sub pages there are visual links to more news, video, photos, and tweets on Ellie and you can choose yourself which of and how many of these options are represented visually.
The visual representations of the links include many pictures of Ellie to create star image and make her more recognisable as an artist- the top link show her latest albums, music, and videos for the audience to check out.
The pages has a dark yet colourful colour scheme so both the indie and the pop conventional colours are represented. The background picture is one of Ellie which means the audience is always able to see her. The picture of Ellie which has been used is from the cover of her latest album which means that is constantly in the back of the audiences' minds as they look through the website.

Florence and the Machine's main website features
At the top of the Florence and the Machine website their latest music video is displayed which takes up most of the page and plays automatically as you go on to the site. This serves as both having a large image of the star and getting the audience to listen to their latest song and watch their newest music video.

As you scroll down the page these two side bars follow you and remain at the same positions at the sides. The left hand side show the logo for the artists' and the different sections of the website you can scroll up and down to. Lower down on that side there is also a link to the store where fans can buy some merchandise. Along the right hand side there is a link to sign up to their newsletter, links to various social media sites including Facebook, twitter, instagram and youtube (put in for the reasons I have mentioned before) and lower down than these links there is a link to spotify so that the audience can listen to more music without having to watch the music videos.

After scrolling down from where the music videos are shown you can see this page which has a large picture of the cover of their next album. This album cover picture also allows there to be a large image of the artists' name and a picture of the main artist just below it. All the singles on their new album are listed so that the audience could buy or listen to these somewhere else, and you can also see the difference between what and the amount of singles you get on the normal and deluxe versions of the CD. Below the CD cover there are links to pre-order the CD in various different formats such as digital, CD, and vinyl. There is also a link to listen to more of their music on spotify below this.

The final page then shows a list of the artist's live events so that the indie pop fans can see when they are playing next as many will want to see them live, there is even easy links to buying the tickets right beside this list of tour dates.

Common and other features which I think should appear on our website

There should be links to social media throughout the website so that the audience can feel that the artist is sociable and wants to connect to her fans, and to allow cheap advertising for our star to be spread from the audience on to her social media pages. If possible I think it would be good to have a sidebar like in Florence and the Machine's website which remains constant as the audience scrolls down so that it is always in their sight.
As well as this we should include links to subpages such as home, biography, news, videos, live, lyrics, music, vocals, and store,  so that we have information on anything our audience may like to now about the artists. These links should be somewhere near the top of the page.
Somewhere still near the top of the page but below the links the artist's name should be presented, it should be the largest text on the page and be a different colour from the rest of the text while still keeping in with the chosen colour scheme, This will help to make the artist name noticeable to the audience and let it stay in their heads longer.
At some point on the page there should be a large image of the artist to aid in the creation of their star image, either in the fore or background. I feel that our background should be fairly plain like that I'm the websites of most of the artists I studied but matching with the colour scheme we choose for the website. In the foreground I feel that we should include an image of the album to remind fans to buy it while still including a star image, and have our music video embedded onto the page which plays automatically, as with the Florence and the machine website, to get the fans to watch it while still being able to see a large image of our artist.
The colour scheme should be the same as, or similar to, the album cover's in that it should either be a mix of dark and colourful or be 20th century American glamour vintage.
There should be links to websites were the song can be listened to or bought for the fans which are interested in doing such.
At the bottom of the page there should be a list of tour dates and links to tickets beside each one, as many indie pop fans enjoy going to see the artist live.
Links on the page should be presented visually as images rather than text to aid in capturing the audience's eye.

After receiving feedback on our music video from the audience I took the shooting script and rewrote to reflect the changes that we were making to it. This is the final shooting script and will be the one that we will use throughout the filming of our piece.

The final shooting script (that we used for our video)

Audience feedback on shot list, script, animatic, plans for her costume, and plot including background

After creating a shot list, script, animatic, plans for her costume, and plot including background we showed these to some members of the target audience we had previously interviewed. I interviewed these people again before creating our final piece so that we could make some last minute changes to our plans for it.

At this stage do you think that we should change anything from this storyboard, shot list and shooting script? Is there anything you think we should include that we haven't or something we should have more of? Anything we should delete or have less of?

Amy Salter- I love the nature shots idea but I think maybe the set should be a little less cluttered than shown in the animatic, so it looks like she has more room to move about and explore, but still show what you keep off, the furniture seems pretty and I like the style that you're going for. I'd also like to be able to tell a bit more why she's there from the video, and not just from the narrative.

Rachael Rielly- I like the idea of you seeing the point of view of the bear and the girl when they spin, you should have more of that and leave out the ones when you can see them both. The shot were she shakes out the cloth and appears somewhere else looks like it will seem a bit sudden and abrupt, could you try and do something to fix this? I also like her costume and make-up but I think she's a bit bare, maybe she could have some more jewellery?

Hayley Gaskin- I love your plans for the appearance and identity of  your artist, she seems interesting, I think her hair and make-up drawn in the animatic really match the genre but she also has her own unique image, especially with the parasol. Could you possibly spend longer than you plan to on the walking up to the mirror and lipstick scenes, this means we get more time to get to know the artist. Perhaps you could include references to the artist's other songs and music videos so that we could find out more about her.

Ellie Wildman- I prefer music videos more when I see the artist sing along, could you have her sing with the track whenever you can, as much as possible, she looks more into her music then and I think this will make her look more like a true indie-pop artist. From the script and animatic there doesn't seem to be much proof of the break-up from the narrative, could you try and but in something that makes this clearer.

Anina Knight- The bears are cute but I think the shot were they are properly introduced is going to be too long and complicated, and frankly sounds a bit too much like a little children's tv show. You should think of another short, but still creative way of introducing them. Likewise I think there are some other shots which you should cut up more as the amount of time you've suggested spending on them seems a bit much, such as the your funny part, the dancing, and the at the table scenes.  you should put shots of other things in the middle. I also don't see why you can't just leave all the stuff on the table there from before and then let her leave it there, it seems like it could be a time waster.

Courtney Knight- I like the start of your video with the bada singing, the way she gets closer and closer to the camera. I think you should make the end of your video match this, seeing as there doesn't really seem to be anything else framing the piece. My favourite thing about it was the nature shots, as many of them as possible please!

After these interviews I created a list of things that, based on audience feedback, we should change before creating our final piece.

References to other russian red songs and music videos should be included.
There should be a framing device, showing more clearly the reason why she's there.
More nature shots
Less mise en scene but more shots of it
Shorten some longer shots such as in the your funny, dancing and table scenes to make them shorter and more interesting.
Have more lip synching
Change the shot that pans under the table to reveal the girl and the bears to something simpler but still creative.
Spend more time on the moving up to the mirror and lipstick scenes.
Use more of the point of view shots of them spinning and cut the one where you can see both of them
More separate shots for the table scene and more nature shots here too.
Tea pouring too long.
Waste of time for her to bring the things over after they already appeared on the table, cut this
Shots at the end should be more like her bada shots than a film reel
More jewellery.

We then came up with ways to create these changes and I written here about how they will add to our piece and make it better.

References to other russian red songs and music videos, a framing device, and the breakup wasn't that obvious from the lyrics or the music video- we fixed all three of these problems by adding a beginning similar to what is seen at the end of another Russian Red music video called Casper, we play the end of the Casper soundtrack at the beginning of our video and show a similar scene to that of the Casper video, which means we now have a reference to another Russian Red song and video which may encourage the viewers of our video to listen and watch more of Russian Red's work. This also works as an other intertextual reference for the piece, and will give a wink to people who are already fans of Russian Red. In Casper it appears as if the man in it may be about to break up with her so we continue from this music video at the start of ours, in this case he does break up with her (shown from her acting and the subtitles we use similar to those in Casper, thus making the break-up more obvious as requested) and this causes her to fantasise about the Eutopic world we features at the heart of our music video. To transition between the world of Casper and the world of our video we represent the idea of a nature fantasy taking over her by having rose petals rain down on her, and then at the end of the video she is once again back in the house but wearing the clothes from the fantasy, showing how it has affected her. Her real life at home before and after the fantasy acts as a framing device for the piece. We have also added a new intertextual reference by having the home scenes before she is changed by her experience grey, and the fantasy world in colour, similar to the wizard of oz.

More nature shots- in some of the scenes were it was complained that we the shot was too long such as during your funny, a dancing scene, and when she is at the table eating and drinking we added nature shots to shorten them. They also helped to take up time to make up for shots we deleted, changed slightly, or made shorter. More nature shots help with adding to our nature fantasy world and creating the idea that the woman has lots of independence and freedom, as she is meant to be identifiable to the target audience they like to see her as being free and independent, and would want to feel this way if they put themselves in her place. By cutting the longer shots shorter by including nature shots in the middle we also make it more likely that we will be able to keep hold of the audience's focus.

We were also encoraged to add more lip-synching and more jewelery to her costume. These suggested let us see even more both how indie pop fans like to see that they enjoy their music (which we will show by having more lip synching) and how they like to feel more of a connection to them (which they will feel when she sing more toward the camera as it will be more like she is singing out to them, the audience.) To help connect with the audience even futher we made the necklace she wears fashionable yet unusual, something which is often thought of as indie pop style. The neclace with the key as the centre meets these requirements and we know that indie pop fans would wear it as one of the interviewes, Rachael Rielly, is wearing one similar to this in her photo.

Shot changes- We placed the extra shots of the mise en scene that one audience member wanted within some of the other shots which were considered too long such as the your funny scene. We also made sure that there way less mise en scene than we originally showed in the storyboard and animatic. This feedback let us known that the typical audience member liked the mise en scene but didn't want it to clutter the scene too much so that the space still looked open and free for her to move around in, this is the way they want to be represent through the artist, as having lots of freedom.

People also said that the tablecloth transition seemed too abrupt and the shot after this when the camera is supposed to pan under the table to reveal her and the bears seemed too long and a "bit too much like a little children's tv show." We decided then to keep her in the same place for this transition so that there was no abrupt change of scenery, and to have the bears suddenly appear after this transition so that it is as if the were conjured up with the tablecloth, emphasising the fantastical elements we are attempting to create with this piece.

Cutting this scene shorter left us more time for the walking up to the mirror and lipstick scenes, letting the audience see her put on more make-up as many teenage girls in this demographic would do makes her more relatable to them, and more time spent looking in the mirror helps to create more voyeurism in our piece, the extra screen time spent looking at the artist will help to increase her star image.

As the point of view shots of the the girl and the bear spinning were more ascetically pleasing we made use of more shots like this and cut the shots were both could be seen spinning, we also included a point of view shot of her spinning and looking at the sky.

As the audience felt there was no need for the girl to once again bring food and drink to the table, only to take it away again we cut these shots from the piece, in the time gaps left behind we added more nature shots and cut up some of the shots of her at the table in the middle which were too long and added nature shots here.

Finally rather than editing the shot at the end into lots of little shots which appears like stop motion we made this part match the beginning of our piece when she moves toward the camera after each line, from an extreme long shot to a close up. But this time it was the girl that remained stationary and the camera moved towards her from an extreme long shot to a close up.

Our narrative/ backstory to the music video

After we decided how our video would look and created the shots for it, I created a narrative to go along with the piece, including anything intertextual we plan to have in our video and the reasons behind it.

The girl was tired of her boring, monotonous adult life full of forced structure and routine, the last straw was  when her boyfriend broke up with her. So she fantasised about a childlike utopia as she felt she was happier when she was a child. She created this safe haven in the woods as that is where many of her childhood fairy stories took place and she filled it with furniture so that it looked like a dolls' house, using furniture like that from her old favourite film- Calamity Jane. Her favourite bears from her youth became her new companions that would never want to leave, and she creates teddy bears picnics for them like in the nursery rhyme, and tea parties like that from Alice in Wonderland, so she could feel she was now in a world without structure and routine.

The music video begins when she is exploring the woods around her newly made home and appreciating the nature which she didn't often get to see within her normal city life, she then puts the finishing touches on the table and begins to play with the bears. She puts on make-up before the meal and then sets up a teddy bears' picnic for them, including food and an unusual looking drink from the tea pot to make it look more magical but after she clears it away she realises she is still unhappy and takes some of it apart. But when she begins to feel more connected to the realness that is nature she becomes happier again and decides to go on with her own life and let this time become a happy memory, shown through the way the shots at the end begin to look more like photos.

From this backstory/ narrative we now know that in our piece we will be including intertextual references from; Calamity Jane, fairy tales, the teddy bears' picnic, and Alice in Wonderland.

Our shooting script

If you follow the link above you will see a pdf file of our shooting script. Me and another group member wrote this script together, with him writing the first half and me writing the second, I then took both halves and edited them together into one script to make it flow as if one person had written it. We will bring this script on location along with the shot list to aid us in filming the piece including the particular shots, their style, their length, and the action which is supposed to happen in them.

Draft final shot list

After we created a basic final shot list in class I took home that basic list and our own individual shot lists and combined the best shots from all of our pieces into this finalised version of our shot list, we will now go on to create a shooting script. Note that although it is our final shot list for now we may revise it after audience feedback of our piece.

00-0.02Black at the beginning, including on the drum beats.
An extreme long shot of the woods and the furniture can be seen, the girl is in the background.
After each line of ba-da's, on a particular beat we will jump cut to a shot where the girl is closer to the camera, singing throughout.
0.02-0.05 An extreme long shot of the set with the girl in the background
0.05-0.09 the girl has moved closer to the camera so it is now a long shot
0.09-0.12 the girl has moved close enough to the camera that it is now a medium/mid shot with some of the background still visible
0.12-0.15 the girl has now moved close enough to the camera that it is now a close-up
0.15- 0.28 Walks toward the scene, grazing her hand against the trees
Possible shots
Steady cam shot following her as she runs through the woods, turning round sometimes running backward so that she is breaking the fourth wall singing at the camera, including a tilt shot to show her costume and various cuts.
0.28-0.39  There is a wide shot of the girl running behind a tree, sticking her head out one side to sing "you're funny" and then does the same thing at the other side for the next line.
0.39- 0.42 a wide angle shot of the girl, encompassing the whole scene in the background, showing her dancing playfully from side to side laughing/singing
0.42- 0.45 this shot cuts to a medium/mid shot showing the same action, but she then takes out/grabs a table cloth and begins to air it out, covering the camera, this shot should then cut out during the word wind.
0.45- 0.56  in this shot mid/medium shot once the tablecloth is taken away from the camera she is now at table, airing the cloth out to put it on the table. At 0.51 she finishes airing out the table cloth and the camera pans down to underneath the table where she is already lying and singing the song. The bears pop in their heads and look as if they may be singing along when the backing vocals begin. The camera moves playfully in and out.
0.56-1.01 a shot of the girl walking up to the  mirror and putting on lipstick
1.01-1.08 extreme close up of the girl('s reflection) she smacks her lips for the b in "beautiful" .
1.08-1.20 Shots of nature, the girl with a nature backdrop, and each bear with a nature backdrop
1.20-1.26 An apparently still shot of the table but with each drum beat a new thing appears on or around the table (such as cutlery) ending with each character appearing on the last three beats.
1.26-1.28 Mid shots of the girl and each bear on their chairs, and some where you can see all of them together around the table, a new shot for each drum beat.
1.28-1.42 Point of view shot of the girl spinning slowly around (maybe holding the bears out in her arms+ non point of view shots of her spinning, maybe from the bear's point of view)
1.42-1.50 The girl brings a teapot and biscuits over to the table, sits down and eats them, letting some crumbs fall around her mouth and maybe licking her lips.
1.50-1.55 Close up of her pouring the tea into cups.
1.55-2.05 Stands up and straightens skirt, collects and takes everything away from the table.
2.05-2.13 Wide shot of her returning to the table, she sits down,  grabs the cloth off her table and places it on her lap places each elbow on the table and put her head in her hands (transition possibility, camera swing round in a circle, when it comes back up there is no one at the table, this could be when we do the time lapse)
2.13-2.43 Shots of nature and the girl, perhaps a time lapse
2.43-2.47 The camera moves in towards the girl's face from a long shot to an extreme close up of her batting her eyelashes it is cut on each beat so it looks like many pictures/ a film reel, while it still appears to be one shot.
2.47-2.52 The camera pauses on her eyes as she bats them one more time, this image then becomes still, as if it were a photograph which at 2.50 burns away to black.

My draft shot list

We decided that rather than creating one shot list altogether in a short space of class time it was a better idea for each of us to create an individual shot list, we will then pick the best shots from each of our lists and combine them into one final shot list, below you can see my individual shot list.

0.00-0.02Black at the beginning, including on the drum beats.
Shot of lips sing abruptly cuts in on the ba-da's,
After each line of ba-da's, on a particular beat we will cut to a more zoom out shot which reveals more of our star and her location while keeping her lips at the centre.
0.02-0.05 An extreme close up of her lips can be seen.
0.05-0.09 A close-up of her face with her lips still at the centre
0.09-0.12 In the third line a little past her shoulders will be seen and a limited amount of background although we will still keep her lips centralised.
0.12-0.15 For the fourth line the shot will be even further back so the location is still revealed (although we will still try and keep her lips as the focus.
0.15- 0.24 she begins to put on some kind of coat, tugging it round her suggestively while looking at a mirror with a gleam of light shining on the mirror.
0.24-0.30 She puts on mascara while looking up from under her eyelashes from the view of the mirror.
0.30- 0.38 when she puts on lipstick, stopping to smack her lips on each ba ba so it looks as if she might be singing it.
0.38- 0.44 a high angle shot of her putting up a fake frame between two trees from in front of the frame and her
0.44- 0.46 point of view shot of the trees through the frame
0.46- 1.08  the table cloth comes down over the frame and it cuts to a shot where she is airing it out onto the table. At 0.51 she finishes airing out the table cloth and the camera pans down to underneath the table where she is already lying and singing the song. The bears pop in their heads and look as if they may be singing along when the backing vocals begin. The camera moves playfully in and out.
1.08-1.20 Shots of nature, the girl with a nature backdrop, and each bear with a nature backdrop
1.20-1.26 A shot of the table and with each drum beat a new thing appears on or around the table (such as cutlery and chairs) ending with each character appearing on the last three beats.
1.26-1.28 Mid shots of the girl and each bear on their chairs, and some where you can see all of them together around the table.
1.28-1.42 The girl is spinning around in the middle of the set, to show this we will use a mix of point of view shots from the girls' point of view where a large amount of the set and the bear/s she is holding in her hands, some shots from a bear she is holding's point of view where she will hold the camera in her hands and point it at herself, and some long and wide shots which show the two of them spinning together.
1.42-1.47 The girl looks dizzy and the camera follows her as falls over sideways onto the blanket and it goes to black
1.47-1.49 The camera follows her as she gets back up and looks around, confused
1.49-1.50 A point of view shot of the sky
1.50-1.57 Wide shot of her from the front sitting between the two bears. She sings along and turns her head toward the bears as she does as if she is talking to them. During this puts her arms around the bears and at 1.56 she lets herself gently fall back with them in her arms.
1.57-2.13 It cuts between a shot looking straight down at her from above with the bears in her arms as she sings along with the song, and point of view shots of the sky when the backing vocals take place.
2.13-2.43 Shots of nature and the girl.
2.43-2.47 The camera moves around/towards the girl and it is cut on each beat so it looks like many pictures/ a film reel, while it still appears to be one shot.
2.47-2.52 The camera pauses on the last image of her so it now looks like one photo which at 2.50 burns away to black.

Mise en Scene research

After we decided on the look we wanted for our piece we all decided to do individual pinterests researching the mise en scene for it.

First for the props for our setting in the woods we wanted to use 20th century furniture that had the look of being dollhouse furniture so I created a board of this sort of kitch furniture.

Follow Sarah Cummings's board Old age hollywood furniture (props) on Pinterest.

After doing this I decided to research some 20th century fashionable costumes for our actress to wear so that she matched the furniture and had the same look conventional look for an artist in the indie pop genre while contrasting heavily with the nature. You can see the results of that research below.

Follow Sarah Cummings's board Old age Hollywood costumes on Pinterest.
We found that we all had similar results in our research and so our mise en scene will look like that seen above, I will post picture of what we chose overall after we have filmed our final piece
